Poker Three: three-card poker with two ways to bet
Two games on one felt: Ante and Play against the dealer, and Pair Plus on your own hand. The paytables printed on the table and a round where the dealer failed to qualify.
Poker Three is 918Kiss's version of three-card poker. Each hand is only three cards, so rounds are short and the hand rankings are a little different from five-card poker. The old notes called it "two games in one place", and the felt bears that out: every seat has spots for two separate kinds of bet.
Two games on one table
Ante and Play. You place an Ante, look at your three cards, and then either put down a Bet of the same size to play on or fold. Your hand is compared with the dealer's. You do not need a pair to win; you just need a better three-card hand than the dealer.
Pair Plus. A bet on your own hand only. If your three cards make a pair or better, it pays according to the table, whatever the dealer holds.
What the felt shows
In the screenshot above, the dealer's three card slots sit at the top, with the line "Dealer Hand / Must have Queen or better to Qualify" beneath them. Each of the three seats has a Pair Plus Bet circle, an ANTE circle, a BET circle and a Player Hand box.
Two paytables are printed at the sides:
- Pair Plus Pays: Straight Flush 40 to 1, 3 of a Kind 30 to 1, Straight 6 to 1, Flush 4 to 1, Pair 1 to 1.
- Bonus Ante: Straight Flush 5 to 1, 3 of a Kind 4 to 1, Straight 1 for 1.
Note that in three-card poker a straight ranks above a flush, which is why the order looks unusual. The limits box reads MIN 0.5 and MAX 1000, and a Rebet button repeats your last bets.
A round where the dealer missed
In the second capture, the dealer turned over a Jack, a 2 and a 7 and the table says "Dealer does not qualify". Both player seats show "No Hand", meaning no pair or better. With the dealer out, the round paid anyway, and "YOU WIN: 1.5" appears on the right. A New Game button starts the next deal.

What is the difference between Ante and Pair Plus?
Ante is played against the dealer: you need a better three-card hand. Pair Plus ignores the dealer and pays on your own hand if it is a pair or better, according to the Pair Plus table.
What happens when the dealer does not qualify?
The dealer needs Queen high or better. In our capture the dealer showed Jack high, the table said 'Dealer does not qualify', and the player was paid 1.5.
