Captain's Treasure on 3Win8: a nine-line pirate game

Captain's Treasure is a compact slot: nine paylines, five reels, and a bearded pirate who does most of the work. It sits in the 3Win8 lobby next to bigger 20- and 50-line games, and it plays faster and plainer than those.

The paytable, read line by line

The help screen is a grid. Down the left side are the hit counts (XXXXX for five of a kind down to X for one), and across the top are the symbols from 9 up to the crossed cutlasses. Five of the top symbol is listed at 5000, five ship's wheels or anchors at 1000, and the card ranks at 100 to 500.

Two panels at the bottom explain the specials:

• The pirate (IS WILD): only appears on reels 2, 3 or 4, and can combine with other symbols to win a doubled bonus.
• The treasure chest (SCATTER): five pays 100 plus 25 free games, four pays 10 plus 10 free games, three pays 5 plus 10 free games, two pays 1. It appears on reels 1 to 3 or 3 to 5 to trigger.

A spin at the lowest bet

Here the game is at 9 lines and 0.01 per line, and a purple line has joined the 9s across the top. The small WIN box on the right shows 0.02. That is the scale this slot works at when you bet small: frequent tiny returns, with the chest scatter as the thing to wait for.

Before you top up
