Monkey Story Plus: the Heavenly Gate, the Water Curtain Cave and the Monkey King

The better-known sibling of Battle World. Two named places on the board, the Heavenly Gate and the Water Curtain Cave, are where the old page said the Monkey King powers up.

Monkey Story Plus is a ring game built on Journey to the West, and it is the one many 918Kiss players remember from the early days of the app. The ring is made of character portraits, and the board has two named places in the middle of the top and bottom edges.

At the top is a red-and-gold gate, the Nan Tian Men or Southern Heavenly Gate. At the bottom is a waterfall cave labelled Shui Lian Dong, the Water Curtain Cave where the Monkey King lived.

The special spots

According to the old page, when the light stops on Nan Tian Men or Shui Lian Dong, the monkey "turns into a super monkey and wins all the fights". The screenshots show both places but not what happens there, so treat that as the old description, not a verified rule.

The panel in the first screenshot has the same four characters as Battle World: the Monkey King, Red Boy, a green-faced demon and the Bull King. The multipliers are arranged differently:

  • Top row: x40, x20, x11, x7
  • Middle row: x25, x12, x7, x4
  • Bottom row: x46, x23, x13, x8

BANK 2, TIE 9 and PLAYER 2 sit on the right. Under the jackpot box (796100 here) a strip of icons shows the latest Bank/Player/Tie results. Chips are set to 100; BALANCE and BET run along the bottom.

During a round

In the screenshot above, the panel is gone and the Monkey King flies on his cloud across a river and village. The waterfall cave sits at the bottom centre, and a small window beside the jackpot shows two character faces. PLAYER is lit on the right.

Tips

  • The bottom row pays the most on every character; the middle row the least.
  • Tie at x9 is tempting but lands rarely.
  • Keep a note of your balance before the first round so you can see where you stand after twenty.
