Battle World: Journey to the West characters on a betting ring
Portraits from Journey to the West line the board, and the Monkey King flies across the clouds while the light picks a winner. A close relative of Monkey Story Plus.
Battle World borrows its cast from Journey to the West. The ring around the board is made of round portraits in red, green and yellow frames, and the old page named the four characters: the Monkey King, Red Boy, the Bull King and Sha Wujing.
The old description also said it is similar to Monkey Story Plus. The screenshots confirm that; the two games share a board and panel, with different art behind them.
The bet panel
In the first screenshot the panel covers the bottom third of the screen. Each row is a colour, each column a character:
- Monkey King: x25, x46, x40
- Red Boy: x12, x23, x20
- Sha Wujing (green face): x7, x13, x11
- Bull King: x4, x8, x7
Each bet shows a multiplier on top and a chip count (0) below it. On the far right sit BANK 2, TIE 9 and PLAYER 2. A row of small icons above the panel, each labelled BANK, PLAYER or TIE, is the recent-results history.
At the bottom: CHIPS (100), BALANCE and BET. The JACKPOT box shows 39700 in this capture.
The flight
When the round runs, the panel slides away and the Monkey King rides his cloud across a misty mountain valley, as in the screenshot above. Most frames around the edge darken, and a small window near the jackpot box shows character faces. PLAYER is lit on the right, which settles the side bet for that round. The jackpot now reads 567700.
How a session tends to go
Rounds are short and the animation is the main event. The Monkey King square pays the most in every row, which also means it lands least. Bull King pays least and turns up most. Many players split chips across two or three characters; that smooths the swings but doesn't change the maths.
