Shui Gu Zuan Water Margin on Mega888: nine lines and a dice round
Based on the classic Chinese novel, this slot has outlaw portraits, flags and weapons on the reels and a tavern dice mini-game where you guess the roll.
Water Margin is based on the classic Chinese novel about 108 outlaws gathered at a marsh fortress. The title on the reels reads 水滸傳, the novel's Chinese name, usually romanised as Shui Hu Zhuan. The old lobby listing called it "Shui Gu Zuan".
The frame looks like a wooden gate with a tiled roof. A war drum sits at the top left and tiny soldiers stand on the right-hand beam.
The reels
The symbols are hand-painted in ink style. There are outlaw portraits (a bearded warrior, a scholar-general, a man in a black hat), banners with calligraphy such as 替天行道 and 忠義堂, a spear, a curved blade, a double-bladed axe, and the round Water Margin emblem with a dragon.
Numbered line markers run from 1 to 9 on both sides. That's fewer lines than most Mega888 slots.
In the screenshot above, a red line crosses the middle row where two matching warrior portraits sit next to the Water Margin emblem. The message strip reads "You won on 1 line" and "You won 7 on line 1". The bet was 1 per line on 1 line.
Big numbers at the top
MINOR, RANDOM and MAJOR sit above the frame, and they are much larger than on most Mega888 slots: RANDOM was over 1.3 million in both captures. That's just the unit the counter uses, and it tells you nothing about what a spin might pay.
The tavern dice round
The second screen switches to an animated tavern. A host in a blue cap leans over a table with a shaker cup and two dice, while other characters watch. The table has betting areas on the left and right, each marked x2, with an area marked x4 in the middle. A red "WIN 28" banner shows a win on this roll, and the bar at the bottom lists CREDIT 1335, TOTAL WIN 28 and TOTAL BET 0.
