Santa Surprise: a Christmas slot with two separate bonuses

Santa Surprise is a holiday slot with more going on than its cheerful art suggests. Wooden letters wear Santa hats and knitted scarves, stockings and wreaths fill the gaps, and green gift boxes tie in to one of two bonus rounds. On SKY777 it runs on up to 20 lines.

Two ways into a bonus

The banner above the reels in the hero states the first rule: "3 or more [bonus symbol] on active payline starts Christmas Gifts bonus!" The bar below shows LINE 20, BET 1 and TOTAL BET MPV 0.20. Because this bonus counts only on active paylines, playing fewer lines means fewer chances of it.

The free-games help screen explains the second route:

• Three or more snow-covered houses anywhere win 10 free games.
• All wins in free games are tripled, except for the Christmas Gifts bonus.
• Three or more houses during the round win 10 more free games.
• "More free games can be won infinitely", which means there is no cap on retriggers, not that the round goes on forever.

The small preview on the left shows what the free-games screen looks like: "Spins left" and "Multiplier" counters at the top, and gift boxes and BONUS symbols on the reels.

The Big Win screen

This capture is from a one-line game with a total bet of MPV 0.01 and a BIG WIN of MPV 0.40. That is 40 times the stake, which is what earns the banner. Behind the coins you can see wreaths, a bell and a GAMBLE button, bottom right. Gamble is optional; skipping it keeps the win.

Before you play

• Check the line count first. The Christmas Gifts bonus only counts on lines you pay for.
• Free games are where the tripling happens, but they are not something you can plan around.
